I Miss Your Ghost: A Photography Portfolio by Kallie Garcia

My portfolio contains ten photographs placed in a studio setting. I chose my models due to their similar stature and shape to further push the idea of a ghostly partner that is present and then suddenly gone.

The narrative in the photographs is reminiscent of a lingering loneliness. By attempting to contextualize my thoughts on single life and a formidable absence of a proper partner, my emotions are excavated and brought to my attention. The hope represented by the barrier of the blanket covers the two figures in the first image. By the end of the images, the figure is alone. The nakedness and vulnerability of the subject without the blanket to hold both her and the ghostly figure together leaves her ultimately surrounded by an empty atmosphere. The ghost of the person who was once there is gone and she is left alone.
